Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction
Since 1982, the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction has united Central New Hampshire in a mission to uplift children and families in need. What began as a modest fundraiser has grown into a region-wide movement, raising over $9.2 million to date for local nonprofits serving low-income families. The annual four-day December auction is the centerpiece event, featuring hundreds of volunteers, thousands of donated items, and a flurry of community spirit.
In 2024 alone, the auction raised an impressive $763,344 thanks to generous community donations, corporate sponsorships, and dedicated volunteer support. Items up for bid ranged from gift cards and toys to unique experiences and collectibles, all provided by local donors. The auction is fully volunteer-powered, with even essentials like lighting, food, and phone services donated by local businesses.
As part of this effort, team members joined the phone bank during the live televised event, helping to raise critical funds that directly benefit families in the Greater Lakes Region. Through financial support and community involvement, the Children’s Auction fosters real, lasting change—ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Stuff a Truck – Holiday Food Drive
Stuff a Truck is a powerful example of community-driven generosity, aiming to fight food insecurity during one of the most critical times of the year—the holiday season. In 2024, The Nucar Automall of Tilton organized a Stuff a Truck event in that rallied community members to donate non-perishable food items with the shared goal of filling an entire truck to support local families in need.
The collected donations were distributed among three impactful organizations: The Salvation Army, Twin Rivers Food Pantry, and the Northfield-Tilton Congregational Church. Each of these groups plays a vital role in ensuring food access for vulnerable individuals and families in the region. From hot meal programs to food box distributions, their work supports those struggling with hunger and financial hardship throughout the year.

Angel Tags
The Angel Tags program, organized by The Salvation Army, brings the spirit of the season to children who might otherwise go without during the holidays. Each angel tag represents a local child whose family is facing hardship, and includes a few thoughtful gift suggestions tailored to that child’s wishes.
In 2024, 65 children were sponsored by the Nucar Tilton Automall through this initiative, helping ensure they each had something special to open on Christmas morning. Community members and teams selected tags, purchased new unwrapped gifts based on the suggestions, and returned them ready for holiday distribution.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire – Thankful Giving Campaign
Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire (BBBSNH) empowers local youth through meaningful, one-to-one mentoring relationships that inspire confidence, build resilience, and help children realize their full potential. As part of their year-end Thankful Giving Campaign, BBBSNH raises essential funds to support and expand these life-changing mentorships across the state.
Each match—pairing a caring adult mentor (Big) with a child (Little)—costs approximately $2,500 annually to create and sustain, yet families never pay a dime for this support. Donations help cover everything from volunteer training and background checks to personalized match support and youth protection services.
By contributing to the Thankful Giving Campaign, supporters help BBBSNH continue its mission to foster positive, lasting outcomes for over 750 children each year. Through consistent guidance and encouragement, mentors help kids dream big and build the foundation for success in school, relationships, and life.

Last Hope K9 Rescue
Last Hope K9 Rescue (LHK9) is a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs from high-kill shelters. This all-breed rescue focuses on providing a second chance to abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, regardless of their age, breed, or medical condition. Through a network of committed volunteers, LHK9 ensures that each dog receives necessary medical treatment and foster care before being transported to New England, where they are placed in loving, permanent homes.

Bolduc Park Association

Beyond the excitement, the event serves a vital purpose: raising funds to support the mental health and well-being of veterans, service members, and their families.
This year, the event highlighted the contributions and sacrifices of women veterans and service members, honoring them through special ceremonies and discussions. American Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross Blood Drive plays a crucial role in saving lives by collecting blood donations for patients in need. Blood donations are essential because there is no substitute for human blood, and they help patients of all ages, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
For instance, cancer patients often need platelet donations due to the impact of treatments on their blood production, while trauma patients benefit from Power Red donations that provide critical red blood cells. Sickle cell patients, who require closely matched blood types, often benefit from donations from those of the same race or ethnicity, particularly Type O.

New Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars
The New Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit and dedication of America’s veterans. Established from the aftermath of the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection, the VFW has grown from a few small bands of veterans seeking mutual aid to an influential organization advocating for veterans’ rights and benefits. With 43 posts across New Hampshire, the VFW offers a community and support network for veterans of various conflicts, from the Persian Gulf to Kosovo and the war on terrorism.
The organization’s achievements are monumental, playing pivotal roles in establishing the Veterans Administration, crafting the GI bills of the 20th and 21st centuries, developing the national cemetery system, and securing compensation for veterans exposed to Agent Orange and those diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. Nucar Ford of Plymouth had the incredible opportunity to sponsor the annual Skijor Galore and education event in Waterville Valley during the winter of 2023!
The renowned authors of the beloved Curious George children’s book series, Margret and H.A. Rey, once graced Waterville Valley as summer residents. Their lives were adorned with a myriad of passions and adventures, embracing roles as artists, historians, naturalists, and devoted stewards. Today, their indomitable spirit lives on through the Margret and H.A. Rey Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring their legacy of curiosity and discovery. For over seven decades, Notre Dame Arena has remained a cherished fixture in the vibrant Berlin community.
